Auto Addicts - Volume Fourteen
Auto Addicts - Volume Fourteen
After a period of so much uncertainty people are once again looking to adventures on wheels. There’s also a feeling that if you can, you should do it and in this issue we have great examples of just that.
The one man who truly embodies that sentiment is Alastair Caldwell, James Hunt’s manager at McLaren and the force that drove them to the world Championship. It’s a great read.
We also feature the Montlhéry Vintage Revival which is certainly the last one under the current ownership – rumours say it has been sold to Richard Mille. Let’s see if they can keep it the same friendly and relaxed event or will they try and professionalise it out of all recognition? Hand in hand with the change of ownership of the event is the rumour that developers will soon be in and knocking down some of the banking a la Brooklands. As the last remaining historic banked circuit it would be a great loss.
As we go to press I am embarking on a 5,500 mile coast to coast trip from New York to Pebble Beach Concours in my Citroen DS 21, with Les and Dee Searle in their 1938 V12 Lagonda…A lot of unknows here but you can keep up with our progress on our Facebook page, NY2PB Rally.
What’s your adventure? We would love to hear from you so please get in touch.
